Pizza at Battersea Power Station: how a one-month pop-up found a home

If you're looking for pizza at Battersea Power Station, you'll find Gracey's upstairs at Arcade. But we didn't arrive with a grand plan. We arrived for a month.

The news: a St Albans pizzeria's first London run

In December 2024, Hot Dinners reported that Gracey's, the St Albans pizzeria that had been picking up rave reviews, was popping up at Arcade Battersea for one month. We'd done one-day pop-ups before, including a day at Terry's Cafe in Bermondsey, but this was our first proper London run: seven days a week, with a limited number of pizzas each day until the end of December.

The menu was short and to the point: the Plain Tom (red sauce, shaved garlic, Sicilian wild oregano and basil), the Smokey Ron (smoked pepperoni, fior di latte and aged parmesan) and the Sweet Vera (house sausage, sweet Italian peppers and shallots).

From pop-up to permanent

The pop-up went well enough that we came back. In summer 2025, we returned to Battersea for a residency with ArcadeX, and, as we told Restaurant Online, we've been perfecting our slices ever since. That summer led straight to our first permanent London kitchen at Tottenham Court Road in November 2025, then to Covent Garden.

Today, Battersea is one of our three London homes, and the place where London first tasted Gracey's properly.

What makes our pizza different

Gracey's pizza is inspired by New Haven, Connecticut, where pizza is baked longer and hotter than Neapolitan pizza. It comes out thin, crisp and chewy, with dark, blistered spots that add flavour. It's the kind of pizza that holds up whether you're sitting down or eating by the river.
